Social Development Commission to Reopen to Public Monday, June 1
With new guidelines in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, The Social Development Commission will re-open to the public and resume full service on Monday, June 1. The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority.
Here’s what we’re doing to maintain a safe environment:
- Before a customer, guest or employee enters our building, we will check their temperature in our west entrance foyer. Anyone with a 100.4 or higher temperature will not be allowed in the building. Customers will be instructed to contact a health care provider. Customers, guests and employees should stay home when not feeling well.
- Face coverings are required. This will help prevent the spread of the virus through speaking, coughing or sneezing. A customer or guest will be offered a face covering if they do not have one.
- We will practice social/physical distancing. People are expected to stay at least six feet apart. A face covering is required when space cannot be maintained.
- We expect everyone to practice good hygiene. Customers, guests and employees should wash hands frequently or use hand sanitizer.
- We will connect via phone, computer or video, whenever possible, to reduce traffic and minimize physical contact where possible (e.g., no-touch drop-offs/pickups).
We are also implementing physical changes at our facility:
- We are cleaning all high-touch-point areas every two hours.
- We have increased the ventilation rates and the percentage of outside air that circulates into the system.

Committed to providing resources to help people move beyond poverty, the Social Development Commission offers various programs, including the Wisconsin Rent Assistance Program that will help people recover from economic and mental health challenges in a pandemic environment.
