How long have you worked at SDC?
I have worked at SDC for 18 months as a Housing Program Supervisor.
What do you do at SDC?
I am a Housing Supervisor of SDC’s Housing Programs. My role is to oversee the daily operations and outcomes of the Rental Assistance Program. I ensure the team is supported to achieve positive outcomes for our customers.
What motivates you? Why do you do this work?
I am motivated by my ability to provide excellent rental assistance services to customers that are facing rental challenges. Assisting others has always been my purpose. I believe that we all are faced with some type of challenge in our lives and when I can be part of the solution I feel that my purpose has been fulfilled.
Describe a time when you felt like your work at SDC made a difference in someone’s life:
There is one customer who impacted me tremendously by her humbleness during her COVID-19 hardship. She was going through the pandemic with little to no resources and didn’t feel well. She heard about the MERA program and specifically reached out based on finding my information on the website. She said she had never needed assistance before she was a professional like myself, but had lost her income due to COVID-19. I was very grateful to assist her through the process and help her receive resources.
SDC’s MERA program was able to get her application processed and approved. She was able to stay in her home. I also recommended some places of employment to her and she has since found employment! She recently stopped by the SDC office to let me know in person that she was thankful for SDC’s rental assistance program that helped her family stay in their home.
Tell us something people don’t know about you:
I enjoy acting, roller skating and performing. I have had the opportunity to perform in two Milwaukee based plays.
