Institute on Poverty & Systemic Racism

Mission: The mission of the Institute on Poverty and Systemic Racism is to embolden researchers, community, and policymakers to eradicate poverty.

Vision: We envision that community-centric research will drive policy, decision-making, and transformative change.

Social Development Commission’s Mandate for Research

The Purpose of the Commission

The Institute on Poverty and Systemic Racism (IPSR) is the research arm of the CR-SDC Board of Commissioners. As the Commission is mandated to study, analyze and recommend solutions for the major social, economic and cultural problems which affect people residing or working with the local government unit (County/City) without restriction because of enumeration, problems of the family, youth, education, the aging, juvenile delinquency, health and zoning standards, and discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations and facilities on the basis of sex, class, race, religion, sexual orientation or ethnic or minority status.

Supporting CR-SDC’s Mission to empower people with the resources to move beyond poverty, IPSR will focus on bridging the gap between theory, practice, and real-world actionable research.
