Our COVID 19 Response
The Social Development Commission is closed due to the “Safer at Home” order because of the COVID-19. SDC will continue to operate our VITA-Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, Weatherization & Emergency Furnace Program, and Food Service Program to meet the needs of our community during this time of crisis.
CEO, George Hinton
“The risk to SDC employees and the general public is too great,” says SDC CEO George Hinton. “Public health officials say we are at a tipping point and if people don’t limit interaction, hospitals may become overwhelmed. All of us have an important role to play and right now, this closure is the best decision for our community.”
