Residential Services

Helping Milwaukee County residents save money and live safely in their homes.

The Social Development Commission (SDC) provides a variety of home services for qualifying low-income residents in the City of Milwaukee.

Home maintenance can be expensive. Improving homes to be more comfortable, safe, and energy efficient is not always possible when trying to make ends meet. That’s why SDC provides home services that save energy and increase comfort while reducing costs, improving safety, and are accessible for everyone.

  • The Weatherization Enhancement program focuses on increasing a home’s energy efficiency. It saves money on utility bills for homeowners and renters alike.
  • The NIP program encompasses total home renovations preserving homes, strengthening the stabilization of neighborhoods, while increasing pride in home ownership.
  • Through SDC’s Lead Safe Homes programs, we educate residents about the dangers of lead poisoning and provide services to focus on health and the root causes of lead poisoning.

Whether you are in need of lead safety or home maintenance, SDC’s Home Services is here for you.
