In a morning Zumba class, the music is blasting. You can feel the bass shake the floor as shouting participants clap, beat drums and shake their hips to Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk. Unless you peeked inside, you’d never guess that these energetic dancers are well into their 70s and even 80s.

As they bop, drop and turn, the dancers prove that age really is just a number.

And perhaps this is one reason SDC hosts the always popular Super Senior Friday. In partnership with several organizations including the Milwaukee County Department on Aging, the Social Development Commission hosts this annual resource fair for Milwaukee County’s senior community.

In addition to Zumba, attendees have easy access to organizations that can answer questions about everything from social security benefits to estate planning.

“It gives you something to do,” says May Liddell.  You need to know about aging and your rights.”

Many seniors who live on fixed incomes also appreciate that Super Senior Friday is free!
