Serina Chavez and Vincent Bobot Win SDC District 5 and District 6 Elections

MILWAUKEE, WI, April 22, 2022 – The Social Development Commission (SDC) is excited to announce the results of the 2022 SDC District Elections that were held on Tuesday, April 19th.

SDC District 5 residents voted to elect Serina Chavez as their newly elected commissioner. SDC District 6 residents voted to elect Vincent Bobot as their newly elected commissioner.

SDC’s District 5 commissioner represents the near southside of Milwaukee. And SDC’s District 6 commissioner represents the south and southwestern parts of Milwaukee County. SDC has a total six commissioners who represent all of Milwaukee County.

“It was really important for me to vote for my SDC Commissioner,” said District 6 resident Carmen Stroud. “They advocate on behalf of our community and I want to be represented.”

Serina Chavez and Vincent Bobot will be sworn in at the Milwaukee County courthouse in the coming months.

Vincent Bobot was a former commissioner on SDC’s Board of Commissioners. He won the seat over the former SDC Commissioner Bennett Rucka was also running for re-election on the District 6 ballot. This will be Serina Chavez’s first time serving on the SDC Board of Commissioners.

For more than 50 years, the Social Development Commission (SDC) has served as a planner, coordinator, and provider of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County. The mission of the Social Development Commission is to empower Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty.
