For more than 50 years, SDC has helped low-income families and others in the community. The mayor also touted SDC’s help in keeping families afloat during the coronavirus pandemic.
“So, working with Dr. Hinton and his fabulous staff, we have funneled, essentially, over $32 million in the last year and a half to help people remain in their homes,” said Mayor Barrett.
“Not only can our community see into an inviting space that says hey, come here to receive the services you desire, the services you need, it also reflects our ability as an agency to see out into the community that we are serving,” said Elmer Moore, chair of the SDC Board of Commissioners.
