Nichole Pettigrew Headshot

Meet the Social Development Commission (SDC)’s new Human Resources Supervisor Nichole Pettigrew.

How long have you worked at SDC?
Just four short days!

What do you do at SDC?
I’m the Human Resources Supervisor.

Tell us how it helps in the war against poverty.
Human capital is the biggest asset to our organization. Making sure that we tap into the skills, knowledge, and other resources that our employees possess is vital. Making sure that we are being good stewards of those resources is what I am tasked to do at SDC.

What motivates you? Why do you do this work?
It is gratifying to help people in any way that I can. I love when I have the ability to see the growth and development of employees and know that I have, in some way (big or small), had a positive impact on their lives.

Describe a time when you felt like your work at SDC made a difference in someone’s life.
I’m new to the position, but my hope is that I will have a laundry list to share by the end of the year!

Tell us something people don’t know about you.
I am also an event planner. I have done over 40 weddings. One even included a horse in the wedding party!
