At SDC, we’ve experienced tremendous growth. We’ve added staff to meet the needs in our community. As a result, you may see faces you don’t recognize. We thought this would help.

Once a week, we will profile a member of the SDC family. This week, our new IT Specialist Rodney Bufford answers a few questions as we get to know him better!

What attracted you to your new job at SDC? What was your last job?
I was attracted to this job because I will be a part of an organization that gives back to the community. I believe this is needed and rewarding. My last job was in IT support for two schools where I helped students get ready for the virtual learning.

Are you a Milwaukee native or did you relocate to this area?
I was born in Bolivar, Tennessee and raised in Milwaukee since I was one-year-old. I grew up near 24th and Hampton and moved to Brown Deer in the early 90s. As a kid growing up, I spent my summers helping my grandparents on their farm. I’ve learned to work hard at a young age.

When you aren’t working, what do you like to do? Feel free to share any hobbies or extracurricular activities.
I like to travel (cruises) with friends and family. I’m also known to spark up the grill or smoke different types of meats (seafood mostly).  I like to go to car shows to see muscle cars (hot rod etc.)

At SDC, we have some die-hard sports fans. Do you like sports? If so, what’s your favorite team and why? If you aren’t a sports fan, that’s okay. Just list something you are passionate about.
I like to watch March Madness (college basketball), NBA (Bucks) and the NFL (Packers).

At SDC, the one thing we may love more than sports, is food. What’s your favorite food? Do you have a favorite restaurant, pizza parlor or homemade recipe? Tell us about it.
Seafood is my favorite food to eat. I like any restaurant that has good Italian food. Rosati’s Pizza in Fox Point is my favorite pizza parlor.

Tell us one more thing that will help us get to know you better.
I’m just a laid-back guy.
