2023 Youth Empowerment Summit
Request for Proposals

The Social Development Commission (SDC) has begun planning for the 2023 Youth Empowerment Summit. Our goal is to equip the youth of Milwaukee County with the tools to break the cycles of poverty and trauma in their communities and to walk away as empowered leaders and changemakers for their generation.

This year’s theme is:

My Brilliancy is My Resiliency

We would like you to join us in this effort by submitting your presentations for workshops or keynotes on best practices and thought-provoking ideas which consider our conference theme.

Through our theme, we will focus on wellness practices and leadership skills. Suggested topics for workshops or keynotes are, but not limited to:

  • Trauma & Coping Skills
  • Mental Health & Wellness
  • Alcohol & Drug Prevention
  • Healing Arts
  • Leadership Skills
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Career Paths
  • Body Image and Self-Esteem
  • Dress & Personal Hygiene
