General Educational Development (GED) Program

If you are interested in earning a GED in Wisconsin, you must meet certain requirements:

  • Age
    Provide proof that you are least 18.5 years old or that your 9th grade class has graduated from high school. Students age 17 to 18.5 years may only be served through a school district or special program.
  • Residency
    Provide proof that you have resided in Wisconsin for at least 10 days.
  • Application
    Complete an application form at the initial meeting and pay a testing and credential fee.

Instructor-led classes are on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Enroll at any time! Our GED program uses rolling admissions to conditionally accept students, space permitting.

Upon completition of the course, you can take your exam at SDC in our certified Pearson Vue Testing Center!


Upon conditional acceptance, a TABE test will be administered.
Student must score at least a 5.0 at the difficult (D) or advanced (A) level to fully be admitted into the GED program


Incomplete applications will not be considered.
