Foster Grandparents Program

Are you 55 or older? Do you enjoy giving back to your community? Helping improve the life of a child? Seeing them achieve academically? If you answered yes to these questions, you are a perfect candidate to be a FOSTER GRANDPARENT volunteer!

As a Foster Grandparent volunteer you will work one-on-one with children in our schools or at a child care or day care center. Grandparents are role models, mentors, and friends to children, especially those who need support to meet academic proficiency standards.

As a volunteer, you may be assigned to up to 5 children to help them accomplish learning tasks, like reading, math and other education skills. By encouraging confidence and helping children develop a sense of self-worth, Foster Grandparents are changing lives and strengthening our communities...and, most importantly, putting a smile on a child's face.

Volunteers Receive:

  • Paid training
  • Hourly Stipend (if income qualified)
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Chance to be a mentor & role model to youth

The Foster Grandparent Program serves nonprofit Elementary Schools and nonprofit Child Care Centers.
