The End of Year campaign for the Social Development Foundation (SDF) is underway! SDF supports the programs of the Social Development Commission (SDC) that provide pathways from poverty to success for tens of thousands of individuals and families. We appreciate any contribution to general operating fun. Services include but are not limited to education and job training, youth food programs, senior services, residential services, youth and adult services and more.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, operated by the SDC since the 2001/2002 tax season, has prepared and filed free federal and state tax returns for more than 176,000 low-to-middle income households in Milwaukee County. Since its inception, a total of $185 million has been returned to the Milwaukee economy. The IRS requires that we provide matching funds to operate this program. We have a $85,000 shortfall. We hope that you will consider making a donation to allow us to provide this valuable service to our community.
