In October, the Social Development Commission and Marquette University will combine their expertise, resources and reach to host the 2019 Summit on Poverty and SWIM Conference.

The conference theme is Self-Reflection, Hope and Collective Impact. This year we hold up a mirror and look at ourselves individually and collectively. Participants will be encouraged to evaluate their own beliefs and biases. Together, we’ll look at how this impacts our work and the community. The conference also examines local, state and national policies that impact the lasting effects of poverty and trauma. The outcomes of this conference will be the catalyst for change.

The 2019 Summit on Poverty and SWIM Conference targets community leaders, human service professionals, educators, advocates, change agents and people experiencing poverty.

Save the dates now. The conference will be held in Milwaukee on October 7 and 8. Keynote speakers and workshops will be announced soon.
