Poverty is a complex issue that affects us all, across ethnic, economic and geographic boundaries. It exerts pressure on social services, health care, law enforcement, schools and our overall quality of life.
The Social Development Commission recognizes that the only way to defeat poverty is to take a strategic, multidimensional approach – one that unites the public and private sectors in addressing both the symptoms and all the root causes. Our Mission is Empowering Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty.
The CR-SDC has received a grant award from the United States Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) as part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) designated for use with CSBG ARRA projects in Milwaukee County.
