Volunteer Opportunities for VITA
(Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program)
The Social Development Commission is looking for volunteers year-round to provide free tax help for low-moderate tax payers.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help across the Milwaukee County for people with low-to-moderate incomes. In 2016, VITA volunteers prepared more than 13,000 federal and state tax returns at no cost to families. Please join us in making 2017 a stellar year by becoming a tax volunteer and make a difference in your community. Learn more about VITA's impact.
You will help residents maximize their tax returns by avoiding refund anticipation loans and high tax preparation fees. As a volunteer, you will receive free training; accreditation; help people begin to build financial assets; and be part of a program that helps thousands of households every year.
