There are a number of ongoing ways to support the Social Development Commission's services and events. The generousity of the community and its organizations are greatly appreciated. Your contributions, whether it's time, a monetary or in-kind, or items for program recipients are always welcome.
The gift of time is a great way to help. Volunteers provide a vital service to the individuals and families who come to the Social Development Commission for assistance. Volunteers make a real impact on the low-income community of Milwaukee County. Volunteers bring their energy, time and expertise to different programs and projects of SDC. The efforts of these individuals, businesses and organizations restores hope and give support to thousands of people. Volunteers are able to engage in activities ranging from volunteering a few hours of your time to perform general administrative duties to assist programs to assisting with event planning.
We always need volunteers for help out with programs such as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or at events including the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative, Daddy Daughter Dance, and the Symposium on Poverty. Volunteer opportunities also exist through the Social Development Foundation with events such as Celebrity Chef and the Strike Out Poverty bowling fundraiser.
