Community Collaborations

The Social Development Commission is dedicated to the knowledge that poverty is a problem that no one agency, individual or governmental body can resolve.  SDC is determined to build partnerships at all levels in an effort to bring to the table the ideas, expertise and energy of many to support county residents who come to the agency for help.

SDC is constantly searching for ways to increase involvement with others both within and outside Milwaukee County so we may better serve individuals and families.  These partnerships can take on the form of ongoing programs or collaborations like the Milwaukee Asset Building Coalition and the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative or for individual projects and annual events like the Spring Community Job and Resource Fair and the Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit.

Partners help SDC extend its reach and effectiveness in reaching the low-income community. By working with businesses, governmental agencies, faith based and other community based organizations, we are able to bring new expertise and resources to the table. By collaborating together, these partnerships are able to accomplish more than the individual members independently.
