The Success Through Rewarding Internships and Volunteer Experiences or STRIVE Milwaukee Program provides students with opportunities to make a great contribution to the community while earning Service Learning Hours and completing Internship requirements. Service learning is an academic program which gives students a chance to take part in organized community service. Through their work, students gain a deeper understanding of course content through experiences in the community, reflection in the classroom, and a greater awareness of the world in which they live. Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that combines coursework with related community experiences to enrich academics, foster personal growth, promote awareness of diversity, and help build civic responsibility.
