Program Description
Sanctioned GED/HSED on-site testing is offered to assist individuals with advancing to improved employment opportunities or taking the next step to post-secondary education.

GED Requirements:

Career Planning Workshop/Orientation
Language Arts – Reading.............................................................. 1 hour 5 minutes
Language Arts – Writing................................................................. 2 hours
Mathematics (2 parts)..................................................................... 1 hour 30 minutes
Part 1: Calculator allowed – 25 questions
Part 2: Calculator not allowed – 25 questions
Science............................................................................................. 1 hour 20 minutes
Social Studies.................................................................................. 1 hour 10 minutes

HSED Requirements:

Employability Skills Workshop
All five GED tests
Health test (un-timed-approximately 1 hour) or ½ high school credit
Civics test (un-timed-approximately 1 hour) or civics course or 3 high school credits in social studies

Eligibility
A person must be a resident of Wisconsin, completed Career and Orientation 750 course and 18 years of age or older in order to eligible for Wisconsin’s High School Equivalency Diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development.

Q. How do I sign up for GED classes?

A. You must attend new student orientation. Be early because only the first 30 students will be accepted. Expect to be here for 4 hours to complete registration and testing. See the New Orientation Flyer.

Q. When are GED classes held?

A. GED classes are held Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM and Monday through Thursday 4:30 PM - 8 PM.

Q. Is there a fee for GED classes?

A. GED classes are offered free through scholarships.

Q. What is the 5.09 program?

A. The 509 program is a competency based high school equivalency diploma program that lasts 16 weeks. A student must meet the eligibility requirements and be referred by a current GED instructor.

Q. How much are GED tests?

A. All five tests cost $65. HSED costs $80. One test costs $20. Cash and money orders are accepted forms of payment.

Q. How much does it cost to retake a GED test?

A. $10 for Reading, Social Studies, or Science. $20 for Math and Writing.

Q. How do I get a GED transcript?

A. Official GED transcripts can be purchased for $15.

Q. How can I sign up for a GED test?
