The SDC Head Start Program provides comprehensive early childhood education to low-income children ages 3-5 with the involvement of their parents. Children receive educational classes, health and dental screenings, a snack and meal daily, and access to other necessary social services. Parents become involved with every aspect of their child's education through participation in classroom activities, parent meetings, and policy-making committees. Workshops for parents include personal growth and development, parenting skills, community advocacy, and more.
The Head Start Healthy Relationship & Marriage Enhancement Program provides relationship education for single adults, unmarried couples, and married couples in a fun, interactive environment. Classes are provided free to qualified participants and include topics such as commitment, communication skills, resolving conflict, understanding expectations, and the effect of healthy (or unhealthy) relationships on adults and children

Clients are provided assistance in obtaining free or low-cost prescription medications from participating pharmaceutical companies.
Since 1974, Senior Companions provide free assistance to adults with physical, emotional or mental health limitations, most of whom are elderly.Senior Companions assist them with the activities of daily living to help them retain their dignity and independence. They are volunteers age 55 and older that meet the 200% income eligibility requirement. Service to homebound clients includes grocery shopping, finding transportation to medical appointments, light housekeeping, reading, writing letters, socialization and companionship.

Helps homeless families gain self sufficiency through skills and rentalstipends. Program also offers access to healthcare services as well as substance abuse assessments and counseling. Adults are able to enroll in GED/HSED programs, Skills Training, and other employment programs while children between ages of three and five may enroll in Head Start.
