The Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative (MFI), in an effort to expand upon its community relations through partnership, has entered into an agreement with the Social Development Commission (SDC) and the Social Development Foundation (SDF) to serve as the fiscal agent for MFI 6th Annual Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit.
We have learned that children are better off when their fathers are actively engaged in their lives. Families are better off when fathers are part of a family... and Communities are better off when they support responsible fathering. This year's theme "Continuing to Empower: The Gifts of Give & Take" will be filled with opportunities to gather information about maintaining current relationships, working to establish new, positive and productive relationships, and tools for strengthening existing relationships.
The purpose of the annual two-day event is to create a platform for men to discuss the issues of fatherlessness; identify solutions; connect with an assortment of resources; promote positive images of the fathers role and access the help available in the community to address the many obstacles that prevent men from being involved.
The partnership provides an opportunity to combine resources in an effort to offer more opportunities to the population of men and families serviced by both organizations.
