As we know, in life there are many unknowns. For example, when one looks at the stock market, investments are up one day, and down the next. One investment that is certain to gain a positive return is sponsoring a youth on our college tour.
This Spring up to 20 high school age youth will tour Philadelphia area colleges to become inspired and motivated to pursue higher education as well as provided with the tools to act on their dreams.
The impact you can have on one young person's life is priceless!

Here is what a $500 investment in one youth's future will provide:
• Tour of four university campuses
• Lodging for six days
• Travel expenses
• Meals
• The chance to meet with university staff and students.
Best of all, your investment will offer one youth the opportunity to chase the dream of higher education.
Universities to be visited on the 2011 Youth College Trip include:
-
Philadelphia
-
Allentown
-
Kutztown
-
Reading

Here's what the 2010 Participants had to say about their experience:
"I was privileged to go on an out of state college tour. The tour opened my eyes to how much is really available to me in this society."
"I do thank the people of SDC that organized the tour and the sponsors. I learned a lot about the colleges and what they have to offer."
"Inspiration! Is the best word for the Atlanta Youth College Tour. This was a tremendous way to broaden our horizons."
How you can help:
For $500, you can sponsor the costs of one student's college tour.
For $250, you can sponsor half the costs of one student's tour.
For $100, you can sponsor 20% of one student's tour.
The impact you can have on one young person's life is priceless!

You can now donate to the Social Development Foundation by using your computer. Simply using a search engine at home and work can raise funds for the SDC Foundation.
The search engine “Good Search” is currently collecting money for the SD Foundation. The first time you go to www.goodsearch.com, you are asked to designate a charity. Just type in “Social Development Foundation” in the space and the foundation that helps SDC programs will become the beneficiary of your activity.
Here is how easily it works. Every time you do a search using the Good Search engine, the foundation will receive a penny. You can also use the Good Search engine to make on-line purchases from designated businesses that will net the foundation more donations.
You can make www.goodsearch.coma favorite at work and at home so you can use it whenever you need to do a web search.

Pick ‘n Save stores offer the Advantage Card which can help save when shopping at one of the stores. The Social Development Foundation is now a member of the store’s We Care program.
