The work of The Social Development Commission (SDC) has improved the lives of thousands of Milwaukee County residents over 40-plus years. At SDC, our mission is to help those in poverty find their way to a better quality of life and greater self-reliance. We do this through direct service, through collaborations that expand and strengthen our outreach, and through perseverance and innovation in addressing the needs of the community we serve.
We pledge to find ways of achieving the agency’s Mission Statement “Empowering Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty.” We recognize that no one agency or organization will be able to eliminate poverty so we will continue to build partnerships throughout the community to bring to the table the resources, skills and energy needed to make this a reality.
